India’s classrooms are steadily transforming into launchpads for tomorrow’s innovators. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and in alignment with government reforms to advance the space sector, the Bharat Space Education and Research Centre, with the endorsement of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), has announced a series of online aerospace workshops to spark curiosity and fuel innovation among students and educators.
Following the success of National Space Day on August 23, which reaffirmed India’s leadership in space exploration, the workshops aim to give young learners and teachers first-hand exposure to aircraft design and urban air mobility. The Aircraft Design Workshop, a one-day programme, will be held on September 14. Participants will be guided through the journey of an aircraft—from concept sketches to preliminary sizing—covering aerodynamics, thrust and drag analysis, wing geometry, flight performance, and stability principles. The sessions are designed to simplify complex ideas into engaging learning experiences.
The second event, the Advanced Drone (Air Taxi) Technology Workshop, is scheduled as a three-day online programme on October 3, 4 and 5, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. It will introduce participants to the emerging field of urban air mobility, covering drone dynamics and futuristic air taxi designs.
For students, the sessions are stepping stones into high-growth careers, as the global aerospace and drone industries are set to expand rapidly. For parents, encouraging participation is an investment in their children’s future, while for teachers the sessions provide professional development and classroom-ready insights.
All participants will receive certificates from the Bharat Space Education and Research Centre. For students, this adds value to academic portfolios, and for teachers it reflects their commitment to continuous learning.
As India works toward the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, these workshops highlight the need for dreamers who can design, engineers who can innovate, and leaders who can inspire. September 14 and October 3–5 may prove to be more than just dates on the calendar—they are opportunities to prepare young India for the skies of the future.
