CBSE Releases Guidelines for Term-2 Practical Examinations

By Aradhy Srivastava

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced dates for the term-2 practical examinations for class X and XII. The process will begin from March 2 and the last date would be 10 days before the last examination of respective classes.

The CBSE said that for class X, Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessments shall be conducted by the schools themselves, and there would be no external observer. For regular students of class XII, the board will appoint external examiners. There will be no practical examination or internal assessment for private students.

The schools conducting practical examinations shall ensure that all instructions issued by the central and state government, local bodies and other statutory organizations related to the containment of the spread of the pandemic are observed, the board said.

To avoid crowding and social distancing, the schools may consider splitting the batches of students in sub-groups of 10 students each. The first group of 10 students may attend the lab work, while the other is doing pen & paper work and vice versa.
