Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the New Delhi World Book Fair 2021 – Virtual Edition.
He appreciated that ‘National Education Policy-2020’ is the theme of the Book Fair 2021. Speaking on NEP, the Minister said, it has emerged as world’s biggest reform.
So it will develop India as the Knowledge because it will also help it in making learners global citizens. He said that the one who has the capability to read, write and think, can lead in any field.
Virtual Edition of New Delhi World Book Fair 2021
Shri Pokhriyal congratulated National Book Trust for the Virtual Edition of the Book Fair. He appreciated its efforts towards providing quality content to the nation.
Minister also launched 17 bilingual titles by NBT under the policy of the NEP-2020.
It is as per the guidelines of the NEP 2020 and the objective is to create supplementary reading materials.
Govind Prasad Sharma said India is the world’s third largest publisher of books. We produce such content that takes forward our rich culture and traditions.
National Education Policy
He further said that this year’s theme is the National Education Policy. It will discuss its implementation through publishing for various ages.
Shri Yuvraj Malik Director, NBT said the theme is dedicated to the book reading culture. He said that NBT will host authors, writers and educationists and conduct webinars and seminars.
He also said that as the Knowledge Partner, it is NBT’s responsibility to take steps to spread knowledge.
