India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar launched the Study in India (SII) Portal, which aims to make the country a preferred destination for higher education and simplify the academic journey for international students.
The SII Portal is a one-stop platform offering comprehensive information about Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), covering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, along with courses in Yoga, Ayurveda, and classical arts. It also provides details about academic facilities, research support, and an integrated one-stop solution for student registration and visa application process.
Pradhan expressed his excitement about the portal, emphasizing its commitment to shaping a prosperous future and making India a hub of education. S. Jaishankar highlighted that the portal would establish a strong international presence for brand ‘India’ in the education sector, connecting students globally.
The launch event witnessed students from Russia, Thailand, Japan, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Korea, currently studying in India, presenting souvenirs from their cultures.
The Study in India program involves partnering with premier educational institutes, ensuring quality education for international students. The streamlined application process aims to attract talented students from around the world to experience India’s vibrant and culturally diverse academic environment.
This flagship program, under the Ministry of Education (MoE), aims to increase the number of international students in India and promote it as a preferred study destination. India’s vast higher education system offers diverse courses catering to global workforce needs, and the Study in India program seeks to facilitate international students’ access to these courses.
With the launch of the Study in India Portal, the nation takes a significant step towards becoming a hotspot for international students seeking top-quality education and memorable experiences. The portal promises a bright future for students, strengthening global ties and fostering a shared love for learning and cultural exchange.
